Kotavelo R42SE, 41mm Full Alloy wheelset
Finally here after 12 months in design and testing, you asked us for a lighter, faster, more aero wheelset to improve on the Bracciano A42 and the Kotavelo R42.
We've made the rim wider & lighter so that it can accomodate wider tyres and has a better aero transition from rim to tyre. We kept the Japanese EZO bearings that are famous in our products, we kept standard, easy to find and replace spokes. We removed some weight from the rim & hub by using better materials and machining.
The final outcome we are proud to say is one of the fastest & strongest wheels we have ever manufactured.
The Kotavelo R42SE shares all the same components as the R42 with the exception of updated stealth graphics and light weight 2.2mm aero bladed spokes. Designed for and tested in Australia for global sales is the Kotavelo R42SE.
If you want to ride Aero wheels everyday of the week, this is the perfect wheelset.

Very Fast - Feel the speed
This is my second set of wheels from Kotavelo in about 10 years. My first set was an A27 Wheelset that never broke over the five years I was using them before I sold them with my previous bike. Once, I got my current bike I rode it's shop wheelset until they started to break down after about 3 years - Now, I'm back for my Kotavelo Wheelset. I've ridden the R42SE since about January (about 1500km) and I was impressed with them right from the first ride. The weight was so light compared with my stock Giant wheels. I noticed how I was able to maintain a faster speed with less effort when heading into a headwind. I also immediately noticed my average was jumping from 28/29 to easily 30.5/31.5km. I also find my sprinting speeds are much faster, I can get up to easily over 45km/h and sustain this effort for a longer period. If you get this wheel set you'll be impressed - Give them a go is all I can say - I'm also a heavier rider weighing in between 90-94kg most of the time. But, when I first started riding this wheel set I was closer to 97kg - So, they're great for a heavier rider. Shipping was fast to Townsville and the communication from Katavelo and Deon's team was excellent. It would be great if more stores in the region could also stock these wheels - They would sell like hot cakes if people knew about them (I do tell my cycling friends about your wheels though)!Nicholas O'Sullivan (Apr 05 2022, 15:56 pm)
Hi Deon. Thanks again for your help with the Kotavelo R42SE wheels. My 2013 MEKK rides better than new with the groupset and wheel upgrades cheers, David.David Fox ()
